Despite increasing awareness of forced labor, the latest Global Estimates of Modern Slavery show that 28 million people are still exploited in any given day. 86% of forced labor cases are found in the private sector.
Technology is both a tool misused by perpetrators to unlawfully recruit, groom, and exploit workers, and a promising tool to prevent and address labor exploitation.
Join us at the 2023 Tech Against Trafficking Summit to discuss how technology can be better leveraged to eradicate forced labor and worker exploitation.
The Summit will bring together business, civil society, academia, government, and activists with lived experience who work to create a world free of human trafficking.
This is an in-person and invitation-only event. Please contact TATSummit2023@meta.com before sharing the invitation with colleagues outside of your organization. If you register and your plans change, please let us know so we can include more participants.
The Summit will take place all day November 15 and a half day on November 16. The agenda is below.
Expert panels will focus on the nexus between technology and labor exploitation, including threats and opportunities to leverage technology tools:
- Recent threats such as recruitment scams on online platforms and the threats posed by generative AI
- Technology solutions to support forced labor prevention in global supply chains
- Creating a sustainable labor data ecosystem that incentivizes information sharing among actors
